Tier Three – Price Range: $625 and up

The possibilities are endless for each custom glass artwork!

Rondel Size Options

Available Rondel Sizes:
12-14” diameter
15-17″ diameter
18-20″ diameter
2123″ diameter – This is the largest size possible for this glassblowing technique. This size ranges from $825 – $1,025 each.

Rondel Hardware Options

Each Rondel is created with specific hardware in mind depending on the intended method of display. Once created, this hardware is not interchangable.

Post (for wall mounting)

Rondels created with a single glass post are used as wall mounted artwork only.  The post hardware is available in two heights
to allow staggering/overlapping of the art glass rondels on the wall, and uses three set screws to secure the glass
post into the hardware.

Feet (for either wall mounting or flat display)

Rondels created with three glass feet can be wall mounted or displayed on a table.  The footed hardware is a single piece of hardware and height.  This hardware does not allow for staggering/overlapping of the art glass rondels on the wall.

Design Layout Services

A collection of rondels displayed on your wall is an exquisite solution to adding a splash of color as well as a sculptural element to your space. Gappa Glass can offer a design consultation service starting at $800 and can go up depending on the number of revisions.

This includes:

  • Autocad concept layout drawing showing the general quantity, size and general configuration of how the rondels will be arranged in your space.
  • Our team will arrange your finished rondels at full scale on the floor in our studio for your final approval.
  • We will create a full scale paper template outlining the perimeter of the artwork as well as identify the location of each rondel and hardware anchor locations.
  • For an additional $400, our team will hang your rondel layout on our studio wall for you to review prior to our team installing the artwork in your space.

Artwork Installation

Installation of your artwork will vary dependent upon the quantity of rondels ordered, location of your site, as well as the equipment (i.e. scaffolding, scissor lifts, etc.) needed to install your artwork.  Our base price for this service begins at $1,200 but may increase based on your specific space.

Artwork installation includes:
  • Packaging and handling of your artwork.
  • Delivery of your artwork
  • Installation of your rondels
  • Rental of specialized equipment such as scaffolding and scissor lifts will need to be quoted separately.
  • If your install site location is farther than a 30 min driving radius from Grapevine, Texas then additional travel expenses may occur.
We thrive on large custom installations that are completely unique to your space and vision! David Gappa has created multiple largescale installations over the years that stun and wow anyone lucky enough to see them in person. His projects can include, hanging elements,  lighting elements, metal accents, natural stone, and of course thousands of individual pieces of glass. His interest in the ephemeral nature of the material of glass as well as the cosmos and humanities relationship to the infinite influence the conceptual backing for his breathtaking work.

Large scale installations typically start at $35,000 and go up from there. David and his team will conceptualize and create a proposal tailored to you and your mission, then after approval will start sampling andcreating the finished artwork. The timeline on these types of projects is typically 2-8 months depending on the schedule of the studio, the complexity of the project, and the speed of the approval process.

Please take a look at some of his previous projects below in order to get a feel for his capabilities and inspiration for your next showstopping project!

Previous Projects

Watch this video to get a closer look at Gappa’s inspiration and process on installation at the Center for BrainHealth, a part of The University of Texas at Dallas.

Fifty-feet wide by forty-feet long, and weighing an impressive 5,300 pounds, the intricate installation of glass and steel consists of 175 LED-illuminated glass spires and 1,050 hand-blown glass spheres.

Each five-and-a-half-foot spire is individually illuminated, and when programmed, slowly pulsates an array of colors across the entire piece, similar to the electric impulses passed from one nerve cell to another.

As the focal point of the research institute’s multi-purpose room, “Introspection” will serve as a visual reminder of the institution’s commitment to enhancing, protecting, and restoring brain health across the lifespan.

The possibilities are endless with glass installations. Make a bold statement with our custom art glass!

Please note: All custom glass pieces can vary in shape and color when they are created due to the nature of hand-blown and sculpted art glass.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please keep in mind that due to the nature of handblown artwork, we will not be able to match colors exactly to the images that you may see here.  Each color is created using a specific color formula of pigments and each batch of color can vary slightly. Please note that due to the process of adding color to glass, there are certain colors that are only available in “blown glass” and certain colors that are only available as “solid glass”. Please talk to our sales team if you have any questions on this.

After completing the form below, our team will send you a digital catalogue of color samples from past work to help inform the color choices for your custom piece of glass.

If you would like a physical sample of glass, we are able to provide small color samples at a price of $375-$500 each depending on the pigment and process used. If the color is not in stock we will need to order the color or colors, and this can take up to seven business days to receive.  If you would like to have the color shipped overnight, that is an option, and there will be an additional cost applied for expediting the shipping.

Blown Vessel Color Samples

Lead times can vary depending on the studio’s current production schedule and the scale and complexity of your project. Once a final design has been approved and we have received the first deposit, smaller projects typically take three to four weeks to complete. Larger projects can take between two to five months.

When talking to your sales representative, please mention if you need the commissioned piece by a certain date. In some instances, we are able to rush the priority of your project by adding a rush fee that may be up to 20% of the total project cost. Know that this varies depending on the scale of your project and the production schedule of the studio.

Due to winter being our busiest season, we are unable to guarantee that a custom order can be completed in time for the holidays during the months of November and December. If you are looking for a custom glass piece as a gift during that time, please reach out no later than August.

Packaging and Shipping:

Due to the fragile nature of glass, packaging and shipping and insurance are additional costs that vary depending on the specifics of your project. At this time, this can only be calculated once the custom art glass creations are completed. We do our best to share comparable price estimates as they are available.

Artwork Installation:

From the simple to the complex, we offer custom installation services of your custom glass work starting at $1,200 and going up from there. Installation cost of your artwork will vary dependent upon the scale of the project, location, equipment rentals (scaffolding, scissor lifts, etc.), as well as any travel expenses for our team if the project is outside of the DFW area. Please get in touch with our sales team to get an accurate estimate for your project.

Hardware:

For our custom sconces, rondels, and pendant lights, lighting and hanging hardware is always additional to the cost of the glass itself and may vary due to market prices. Please reach out for the specifics to your project.
